The interview with ANAPAYA

SCION is considered one of the most exciting developments in the field of secure network infrastructures — especially for companies that depend on availability, redundancy, and security by design.

In an interview with our technology partner ANAPAYA, Sergio Milesi, CEO of GAS&COM, clearly states the company’s position:

SCION is a perfect fit for the GAS&COM portfolio – and a logical step toward modern, secure connectivity.

In conversation with ANAPAYA, CEO Sergio Milesi explains why GAS&COM sees SCION as a logical next step in its development. Particularly relevant here is SCION’s positioning between classic Internet and dedicated point-to-point connections:

SCION is secure but not necessarily dedicated, enabling flexible topologies such as point-to-multipoint without compromising security.

From GAS&COM’s perspective, a key advantage is that SCION incorporates security mechanisms directly into its architecture: alternative routing and multiple inherent security levels are embedded in the protocol. This means that in many scenarios, no additional security hardware is required to make the connection significantly more robust and secure.

Another point that Sergio Milesi emphasizes in the interview is collaboration within the SCION ecosystem. This is based on a multi-carrier backbone and requires cooperation between carriers and technology partners such as ANAPAYA. This is precisely where GAS&COM sees a clear advantage: as a Swiss carrier, GAS&COM is accustomed to thinking in terms of partner networks and implementing redundancy together with other providers.

For customers, this means that GAS&COM can provide SCION connections and, if necessary, integrate additional carrier redundancy via partners. At the same time, GAS&COM is also positioning itself as a redundant carrier within the SCION ecosystem.
