A group of representatives from science and industry presented the “Swiss Data Center Efficiency Label” at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. The Swiss alliance wants to decarbonize data centers and significantly reduce their total power consumption. The alliance initiated by the industry association digitalswitzerland and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) founded the association Swiss Datacenter Efficiency Association (SDEA), which is responsible for awarding the label and the previous tests.
Founding members of the SDEA are the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), Green IT Switzerland, HPE, the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU), the Swiss Data Center Association (Vigiswiss), where GAS & COM is a member, and the Swiss Telecommunications Association (ASUT) .
The Swiss Datacenter Efficiency Association was founded on the initiative of HPE and Digitalswitzerland. Their task in the future will be to award particularly energy-efficient data centers with the “Swiss Data Center Efficiency Label”.
We are pleased with this development and support this initiative.
